step#7: sight words

overall there are two approaches to teach spellings, phonic and sight. while there are many words that should be learnt by phonic method, there are few high frequency words that require immediate recognition (just by sight, no time spent in attempting to read). sight word vocabulary leads to fluent reading skills. some of the sight words are an, am, are, were, there, is, was, this, that and many more. in fact, there are age appropriate sight words lists also.
